How Do I Buy A House at Auction?

In Ventura, auctions are held at the Government Center on Victoria everyday at 10:00 a.m. Rain or shine so be prepared!

Here are few tips:

1. Don’t get too close to the people in charge or you will be reprimanded! They are really nice people, just don’t step over that invisible line. They will let you know when you can approach them.

2. Attend a few auctions just to see how things work. Most people are very nice and willing to answer your questions. Many of them are old pros.

3. Bring numerous cashier’s checks as your winning bid must be over the bid price – even by one penny – and they don’t accept cash. If your check is too big, they will send you a refund.

4. Be careful what you say. Most likely you’ll be bidding against someone much more experienced and you may trip up easily. So go slow and don’t be intimated. Even if the starting group of bidders is big – eventually it will dwindle down as the price goes higher.

Once you win the bid and get your paperwork in order, the work begins. You may have to boot a hostile tenant and/or do some significant work on the house.

Most people find this style of purchasing a home a bit too risky. That’s where I come in. I have years of experience working with all types of buyers purchasing all types of homes! I’m here to help you negotiate through a legal transaction. Whether the home you purchase is a standard sale, a bank-owned property or a short sale, I’ll get you to where you want to go on time and with peace of mind.

The door to your dreams hinges on me!
